HOUSEDUST MITE

チリダニ.JPGPresent in our homes and work places, housedust mites undoubtedly rule our carpets. Housedust mites live in 95% of homes in U.S., and are, whether we realize it or not, present in amounts that can cause amazingly severe problems in persons with allergies. Ridding homes of these tiny arachnids should be a main priority for those families with emphysemics, asthmatics and people allergic to housedust mites. Housedust mites may always be present to some degree, but if their population is small, they will cause fewer problems.
These microscopic mites, themselves, are harmless,in the sense that they neither bite nor sting. When they defecate, however, their droppings are a strong allergen that is capable of triggering asthma, allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and eczema attacks in allergy sufferers. One of the main problems with housedust mites is that they are so tiny(measuring 0.3mm) and their droppings so minuscule(10 to 14 microns in size), that it takes minimal disturbance for their allergen to become airborne.

Mattresses, bedding, and stuffed furniture and toys offer perfect living conditions for housedust mites.

CANNIBAL MITE (cheyletidae)

ツメダニ (3).JPGCheyletidae mites have been found in house dust around the world, especially in humid regions.
They are reported to cause dermatitis with locally distributed lesions in humans. They were visually observed to bite people in an experiment where human skin was exposed to the mites for several hours. In one clinical case,an infant who sat for long periods of time in an upholstered chair had lesions on her back. When the chair was cleaned to remove mites, the child's lesions healed. This result led a specialist to diagnose dermatitis caused by being bit by chelyletidae.
